In a bold and visionary step toward empowering the next generation, Senator Fatai Buhari and Hon. Najeemdeen Ewesesan have jointly sponsored a transformative youth development program under the Ibadan Future Leaders in Technology (iFLIT) initiative. The project, launched on July 1, 2025, is implemented in partnership with the Kabir Adekunle Foundation and is designed to equip young people with high-demand digital and technical skills that open doors to employment, entrepreneurship, and innovation.
The iFLIT initiative is structured to provide practical training in front-end and back-end software development, solar and inverter installation, CCTV/IP surveillance systems, digital marketing, and computer hardware engineering, among other technology-driven fields. It targets young men and women across Ibadan and Oyo State who are passionate about building careers in the tech and engineering space but lack access to professional training and mentorship.
Speaking at the launch event, Senator Fatai Buhari reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to youth empowerment, stating: “The future of Oyo State lies in the creativity and competence of its youth. iFLIT is a bold investment in that future.” Similarly, Hon. Najeemdeen Ewesesan emphasized the importance of inclusive opportunities, saying: “We are committed to ensuring that no youth with ambition is left behind in this digital age.”
Kabir Adekunle, founder of the Kabir Adekunle Foundation and architect of the iFLIT project, expressed gratitude for the support and belief in the vision of a digitally empowered Ibadan. “With the help of forward-thinking leaders like Senator Buhari and Hon. Ewesesan, iFLIT is more than a program—it’s a movement to unlock the genius in every youth,” he remarked.
