The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, has passed away at the age of 90.

According to reports gathered by newsbison, the revered monarch died in the early hours of Monday, marking the end of a notable reign and a significant moment in the history of Ibadan.

Oba Olakulehin’s death comes during the ongoing celebrations of his 90th birthday and the first anniversary of his coronation, adding a somber tone to what was meant to be a joyous occasion.

He ascended the throne following the passing of his predecessor, the late Oba Lekan Balogun.
