Nollywood actress and producer Ruth Kadiri has addressed ongoing speculation about her marriage, emphasizing that her husband isn’t being hidden—she’s simply choosing to keep their relationship private.

In a candid interview on the Dear Ife podcast, uploaded to YouTube on Saturday, Kadiri explained that the decision to remain low-key was mutual between her and her husband. It’s also the reason they opted for a quiet wedding ceremony with just 50 guests.

“I invited only 50 people to my wedding. It was exactly what we both wanted, and I didn’t want any drama around my relationship,” she said.

The Edo-born actress, who tied the knot in a private ceremony in 2019, described the choice to keep things intimate and away from public scrutiny as one of the best decisions she’s ever made.

“It has helped me stay grounded and define my relationship on my own terms,” she shared. “I also don’t have external factors influencing how I relate with my spouse.”

Kadiri further revealed that her husband prefers to remain outside the spotlight, and that this choice has helped him avoid the pressures that often come with being married to a public figure.

“People don’t know him, so there’s no pressure on him. He’s just living his life, and he doesn’t really like attention anyway,” she added.

Responding to public speculation and occasional claims that she is hiding her partner, Kadiri was clear: “For clarity, my husband is not a secret. People who know me, know him — and that’s enough. I’m not hiding him.”

She explained that while he isn’t a celebrity, they attend church and events together, and people even share his photos online. “Just because you don’t know him doesn’t mean he’s being hidden,” she said. “My life is not as private as people think.”

Kadiri and her husband share two daughters, and she remains committed to shielding her family from the public eye while continuing to thrive in her career.
