The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially released the names of the top-performing candidates in the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

Speaking during the 2025 Policy Meeting on Admissions held Tuesday in Abuja, JAMB Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, announced that Okeke Chinedu Christian from Anambra State emerged as the overall top scorer, securing an impressive 375 out of 400.

Okeke, who selected the University of Lagos (UNILAG) as his preferred institution, hopes to study Mechanical Engineering.

Following closely behind is Ayuba Simon-Peter John from Gombe State with a score of 374. He chose Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti (ABUAD) and also intends to pursue Mechanical Engineering.

Third on the list is Abdulmalik Olayinka Jimoh from Kwara State, who scored 373 and selected UNILAG with Mechanical Engineering as his course of choice.

Notably, six of the top ten scorers chose various branches of engineering, reflecting continued interest in STEM-related fields. Only one female candidate, Olawepo Tunmise Gertrude, made the top ten list, securing a score of 373.
